EDWARD THE CONQUEROR by Roald Dahl
Mishka Rushdie Momen PIANO
Deborah Findlay NARRATOR*
One afternoon a mysterious long-haired white cat turns up in Louisa and Edward’s garden and proceeds to invite himself into their house. While going through her usual afternoon piano practice routine, Louisa discovers that the cat has an extraordinarily refined taste in great 19th century romantic piano music. A witty and sometimes acerbic Tale of the Unexpected unfolds.
Roald Dahl’s meticulously crafted short story includes pieces by Bach, Schumann, Liszt and Chopin that Louisa plays to the cat, played in this performance by rising star Mishka Rushdie Momen. This will be an evening of captivating music and story-telling.
“The cat, who a few seconds before had been sleeping peacefully, was now sitting bolt upright on the sofa, very tense, the whole body aquiver, ears up and eyes wide open, staring at the piano…”
