Tracy grew up in the Northampton where she spent many happy teenage years as a double bassist growing through the youth orchestra and band ranks of one of the leading County Music Service’s before leaving her hometown to study for a degree in Music at The University of Sheffield.
Tracy has been with Music in the Round since 2003. Originally appointed to get the new touring programme off the ground her role has been constantly evolving ever since. She has been involved in supporting the programming and delivery of Music in the Round’s core series in Sheffield as well as with all its venue partners in the wider South Yorkshire region and nationally and works closely with Ensemble 360 supporting them with programming, diary management, recordings and photoshoots. She has taken a key role in the development of many new partnerships and collaborations and, working in a small team, has also meant she takes a hands-on role when necessary in fundraising, press and promotion.
As well as delivering concerts and venue-partner conferences, Tracy has also been involved in a number of more unique events including a film and music collaboration with Sheffield’s Showroom Cinema streamed live via the internet, a mass-workout to live classical music and semi-staged actor and music collaborations. Her job has even required her to sleep overnight at the Crucible Theatre as part of a continuous 25-hour marathon of Mozart’s music and run the Sheffield Fun Run dressed as a double bass!
Outside of Music in the Round she’s involved with Sheffield Mencap and Gateway supporting adults with learning disabilities and is a Trustee of Barnsley Civic Enterprise Ltd.
