Ensemble 360 announcement
Bassonist Amy Harman is Ensemble 360's newest member! Hear her in Sheffield and across the country from this October.
Amy began her studies at the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music at the age of 9 where she was awarded the Sally Wainwright Woodwind Prize. She has recently completed her undergraduate studies at the Royal College of Music, under the tuition of Andrea de Flammineis, Julie Price and Martin Gatt, where she was awarded the RCM Bassoon Prize, Paul Carroll Bassoon Quartet prize and also achieved the highest mark ever awarded to a bassoonist in a final recital. Amy continued her studies at the Hudební Fakulta Akademie Múzických Umění in Prague studying with František Herman.
Amy regularly performs with the Winterbrook Trio and the New European Ensemble in the Netherlands. She also regularly collaborates with the Chillingirian Quartet and has performed at the Pharos Music Festival in Cyprus with Radovan Vlatkovic, Natalia Gutman and Charles Neidich.
As an orchestral musician Amy is just about to take up post as the principal bassoon with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and has performed with the European Union Youth Orchestra. She is also in demand as a soloist and played Weber’s Bassoon Concerto with the Dorset Chamber and Haffner Orchestras.
