We are delighted to welcome The Abbeydale Singers and their director, Kevin Haighton, for a short exploration of an especially rich but undeservedly neglected aspect of Schubert's output. The Partsong tradition was immensely popular in the 19th century and Schubert regularly composed for mixed vocal groups throughout his life. Some of the songs are light, occasional pieces, while others are deeply intense and display the same remarkable inspiration as the very best of the solo-song repertoire.
