Music in the Round is an Arts Council England (ACE) National Portfolio Organisation, funded to deliver and develop annual concert series in Sheffield, Barnsley and Doncaster, the May Festival in Sheffield, and a national programme which supports a network of venues to present high-quality chamber music in areas where there is little or no other provision.
Our funding agreement as an NPO runs from April 2015 until March 2018.
The Mayfield Valley Arts Trust (MVAT) continues the generous support it has given us from the first Beethoven Festival in 1984 in Sheffield, focusing since 2008 on our Music in the Community learning and participation programme. MVAT also supported the extension in the seating capacity of the Crucible Studio in 1994 and the purchase of our Steinway piano. Our current three-year funding agreement with MVAT finishes in 2016.
Sheffield City Council supports Music in the Round on an ongoing basis.
We apply to local and national trusts and foundations every year to support particular projects, events and activities.
In 2015/16 we are particularly grateful for the support of the following trusts and foundations towards our learning and participation programme, Music in the Community and our Barnsley and Doncaster series:
The Andrew McEwan Fund
The Lindsay Foundation
Shaw Lands Trust
Garfield Weston Foundation
PRS For Music Foundation
Sheffield Church Burgesses
Sheffield Town Trust
The Liz & Terry Bramall Foundation
