Music in the Round

Decoda Residency

In February 2014 we welcomed the internationally renowned ensemble DECODA to Sheffield for a four-day residency that included exciting family and schools concerts plus an intensive two-day course for young string players. Decoda's time in the UK also saw them appear at the Barbican and the South Bank Centre, and with In Harmony.

Themed on DANCE and centred on David Bruce's electrifying piece for clarinet and string quartet GUMBOOTS, Decoda in Sheffield took participants and audiences on a journey discovering musical codes and passwords, feeling the emotions of rhythm, finding out how music is all around us, and learning how to use it to communicate!
