Friends make an enormous contribution to the success of Music in the Round and without their commitment, loyalty and support we could not achieve our aims, develop as an organisation or present such a wide range of high quality concerts.
The Friends of Music in the Round scheme was established in 1993 to help provide more financial security for Music in the Round, then the Sheffield Chamber Music Festival, and to give regular supporters and concert-goers the chance to feel more involved and better informed. At a time when the annual festival in Sheffield was extending into a year-round series of concerts, and the educational offer was increasing, Friends' donations made an invaluable contribution to the growth of the organisation.
As well as receiving a range of direct benefits, there is a great sense of community amongst Friends at concerts, adding to the warmth and spirit of every event.
Music in the Round Friends have grown to be part of the extended family of Music in the Round, in many cases becoming close personal friends of the performers and enjoying the opportunity to be part of such a successful and innovative musical institution.
